Reef Hotel Diving
The Reef Hotel has a facility with the Buccaneer PADI 5 star diving center in Mombasa. PADI Courses and experienced diving is catered for. You have access to Kenya’s only 5 star PADI IDC training Centre. Our beginner courses start from a 1 day discover scuba course to the first certification level Discover Scuba Diving course, and open water diving ratings. Further courses include the advanced open water course, Rescue diver, Master scuba diver, Dive master, Dive master, Assistant instructor and Instructor courses.
Of exceptional interest is the purpose made wreck, the M.V. Dania, located over the reef and now Kenya’s most interesting wreck dive. Other special dives include Shark point, Vuma caves, and for the very experienced, birthday reef at the entrance of Mombasa harbor. Day trips are available from the Reef Hotel to Shimoni to dive the Kisite marine park area, and dive and snorkel with dolphins. Kisite is considered the finest marine park in east Africa. Free dive try outs are conducted regularly at the Hotel.

In 1995 thanks to the input of Anton Kornhoff renowned South African diver & author of the Dive Sites of Kenya & Tanzania Wasini island Diving was formed. Divers & would-be divers follow a similar program to the snorkellers, but depending on the dive option they can choose to either accompany the snorkeling guests or board a diving dhow.
Wasini is a Scuba Schools International (SSI) diving school and also BSAC registered. Scuba diving for diving enthusiasts and fun dive for first timers are on offer at the best prices on the coast. SSI certified diving instructors supervise and offer individual assistance. All the equipment required is provided and is of the highest standards.
Trial diving ( We call it FUN DIVE because it is…) for the unqualified diver involves the diver being escorted on an underwater sea safari for 30 minutes to a safe depth of no more than 7 meters supervised by an SSI instructor. No experience is needed for this fantastic, safe and fun experience. Tried a land safari? This is a first time diver’s chance for a fantastic underwater safari! The age limit is 10 to ancient… Fun divers get a thorough briefing on the way out to the marine park & the extreme importance of paying undivided attention to the entire drill cannot be overemphasised, because guests do not want to waste any precious snorkelling or diving time once reaching the park. The instruction includes breathing exercises, techniques to eliminate pressure to the ears, & other points to make the diver comfortable. Only a maximum of two persons at a time with an SSI qualified underwater guide. Underwater cameras are on sale on the dhow should you wish to record this glorious sea adventure.
If 1st time divers do not complete or enjoy the dive they do not pay… never has no one not paid for not enjoying the 1st time dive. IT IS FANTASTIC!
For qualified divers Kisite Marine Park & the surrounding reserve offers the best, most easily accessible dive sites on the Kenya Coast. Some of the dive spots frequently visited at the Kisite National Marine Park are the Coral Garden, Kisite Point, Outer Kisite and Dolphin point. These are the qualified diver’s spots with depths ranging from 14 meters to 18+ meters. With a very special dive available for experienced divers of 30 meters . Often, divers swim with dolphins and turtles especially at Kisite Point and dolphin point. However, this cannot be guaranteed, as they are wild animals and not under our control.
